For over 65 years, The Arc of San Antonio has provided essential guidance, advocacy, and enrichment services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families. Due to COVID-19, The Arc has lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in program funding since its locations closed for participant safety. Local gathering restrictions also caused the cancellation of our traditional Roses and Races Derby Night gala in early May. The gala was The Arc’s major annual fundraiser and the revenue loss leaves a challenge that must be met.
The Time to Unite
We are calling on our individuals, families, caregivers, champions and San Antonians alike to unite with us for our inaugural virtual fundraising campaign, the March for Independence. The campaign will raise critical funds needed to continue our services. The March for Independence brings people together to share stories, videos, and custom content from The Arc family in a brand-new way during today’s stay-at-home climate. Save the date for our kick-off on June 1st when you and the community can join the “march” campaign online by contributing as a donor, sharing a testimony, submitting a “Why We March” video, or participating in an Arc webinar or FB Live event. The campaign will conclude as the nation celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) this July. More coming soon!
Thank you to our supporters of the March for Independence!
