The Arc’s Family Support Services
The Family Support program provides extensive support and referral for the primary caregiver of an individual with a developmental disability that needs help identifying appropriate programs and services. The Family Support staff provides information on a full range of services for the special needs individual such as early testing/diagnosis, eligibility for public funding programs, medical services, preschool/childcare services, school advocacy, transition planning, respite care, educational options, residential placement, habilitation and vocational programs. Family Support is a limited case management, advocacy and referral service program to ensure that individuals are connected to community resources. Staff will work with families and caregivers to develop and implement plans that address the immediate and long-term needs of children and adults. family support staff meet with families at schools, clinics at their home or other community programs.
